Honda HDS software work with original AVDI PassThru

Is it possible to make HDS software to work with original AVDI – ABRITES Vehicle Diagnostic Interfacewith included basic diagnostic functions and PassThru driver (J2534)?

Install any HDS software

Then launch it and click on the icon Written F12

Set HDS to SPX

It will work fine

Here is a good case of using Honda HDS with original AVDI.

Software version:

Honda HDS 3.002.032

HDS 2.024.005

Operation system: Windows 7

If i use original AVDI software i succeed to connect on VW vehicle with no problem. But when i run HDS and give to interface power supply via OBD2 and click on icon New vehicle i get next message from software:
“Please wait for the interface module to initialise”
and after some time i get message:
“Timed out waiting for the SPX-MVCI to initialize”

I did not connect interface to Honda vehicle but on green LED on AVDI interface nothing happened

Solved without any help.

I am install HDS 2.024.005 + ECU Rewrite 062404 (not have ecurewrite for version HDS 2.027.007) because versions 3002 and up work only with wireless interface. To set up everything fine, you need manually in the registry to set up AVDI interface. I did it in Win7 Ultimate x64 with installed XP SP3 and win7 on one HD, and it is different comparing with HD with only Win7 installed, not located in same place in registry.

Usually, you need luck with Honda HDS software for AVDI genuine. And also sometimes high risk you may take.

For sake of security, Honda HIM diagnostic interface should be your No.1 option for HDS software.

Honda diagnostic system (HDS) is definitely tested no issues to work with HIM, as the best and professional tool for Honda vehicles from 1992 to 2016. It offers basic obdii diagnosis, ecu programming and key programming in Thai/ Turkish/ Vietnamese/ Chinese/ Chinese(taiwan)/ Spanish/ French/ Indonesian/ Portuguese.

Of course, it depends what you need.

For basic obdii diagnosis, it’s ok to get a cheap xhorse mvci cable; this cable also works with Techstream for Toyota, Lexus & Scion and with VIDA 2014D for Volvo.

Also, you have another cheaper option for obd2 diagnostic test- Honda HDS OBD2 diagnostic cable.

But, for ecu programming or key making, you should choose the Honda HDS HIM scan tool .
