Check the guide below to learn how to open BMW BCP Key Shell by Yanhua Btool-BCP Key Cutting Kits.
Step 1: Get Your Tools and Key Ready
Take out your tools. You will need the Yanhua ACDP Btool BCP Key Cutting Kit to open the key.
Open the holder. Lift the clip on the plastic tool so you can put the key inside.

Line up the key. Make sure the button with the car logo faces the small post inside the holder.
Lock it down. Push the key firmly into the tool. Check that the small hole on the key fits over the guide pin on the tool.
Close the clip. Press the clip shut so the key does not move.
Move to the base. Slide the holder (with the key still inside) onto the bottom plate. Turn the nut to lock it in place.
Step 2: Cut the Back Part of the Key
Note: This tool is made so only the thin welded plastic line on the side is showing.
Put in the blade. Start cutting from the back. Place the left edge of the blade against the right edge of the slot. Slide it into the small gap.

Tap lightly. Hit the blade gently with a hammer. Stop tapping when the blade reaches the small notch (the lock point).

Tilt the blade. Put the blade into the holder clip. Tilt it to a 20-degree angle and point it right at the welded seam.
Cut the seam. Hit the top-right part of the blade with the hammer to slice through the plastic weld.

Step 3: Switch to a Smaller Knife
Change your tool. When the cut reaches the groove in the fixture, stop using the big blade. Pick up a scalpel (small knife) to keep going.
Position the knife. Hold the scalpel with the sharp edge facing right. Stick the tip straight down into the groove.

Get good leverage. Slide the scalpel sideways until the flat back of the blade pushes against the angled edge on the left.
Push through. Tap the scalpel with the hammer until the blade cuts all the way down to the bottom of the shell.

Step 4: Cut the Front Part of the Key
Look for the marks. Read the stickers on the key. Find the three grooves that need to be cut.
Warning: Do not cut the groove that the sticker tells you to skip.
Cut the marked spots. Start with the three marked areas. Tilt your blade to 20 degrees, slide it into the opening, and tap to cut.
Keep going along the seam. When you finish the third spot, pull the blade out. Tilt it again, line it up with the weld, and tap to keep cutting.

Step 5: Open the Shell and Take Out the Circuit Board
Remove the inner shell. After you have cut through all the welded points, take the key’s inner shell out of the tool.
Get your pry tools. Take the special off-pin blade and put it into the clip on the front cover.
Pop open the back. Stick the pry tool into the groove on the back of the key. Push the tool toward the side cover to snap this area open.

Split the front seam. Use a pry knife. Push it into the front weld seam. Twist left and right, back and forth, to rip the seam open completely.

Pull out the board. Gently lift out the small circuit board (PCB).
Good news: The circuit board is still in perfect condition.

After opening BCP key shell, it’s easy to use Mini ACDP/ACDP2 with Module 38 License and BMW BCP Interface Board/BCP Key Encrypted Key Copying Interface Board to copy BMW U chassis BCP encrypted/unencrypted keys (with and without UWB functionality).
