Step-by-step guide to unlock FCA SGW by TOPDON scanners:

Step 1: Access the Maintenance Menu
Begin by tapping on “Diagnostics” in TOPDON menu.
Step 2: Download the Specialized FCA Vehicle Software
Next, select and download the FCA vehicle software (e.g. CHRYSLER). This ensures your tool has the latest protocols and data to communicate effectively with the vehicle.
Step 3: Automatic Vehicle Identification
Tap “Automatic” to identify vehicle information automatically, saving you time and eliminating manual entry errors.
Step 4: Acquire VIN
Tap “Read” to acquire VIN automatically
Click “Confirm” to verify the VIN
Step 5: Confirm vehicle info
Click “Confirm” to verify the vehicle info is correct
Step 6: Bypass the Security Gateway (SGW)
Modern FCA vehicles are equipped with a Security Gateway module. When prompted, confirm “Yes” to indicate that the vehicle has a SGW. This is a crucial step for establishing a secure diagnostic session.
Step 6: Confirm and Proceed
Click “Confirm” to check if the AutoAuth account is correct
Step 7: Gain Full System Access
The final confirmation: “SGW (Security Gateway Module) successfully unlocked.” This message means you have successfully bypassed the security gateway by TOPDON, and you’ll now access full diagnostic capabilities for all systems, from engine and transmission to advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS).
