Alientech continues to expand the capabilities of KESS3 ECU Programmer. The latest protocol release adds support for Continental SID212 ECUs in Bench mode, a significant update for workshops frequently working on modern diesel platforms.

Background
The SID212 ECU is prevalent in numerous diesel applications, notably within the Ford range (e.g., 2.0 EcoBlue). Its prevalence in the market has made it a high-demand target for calibration services. Previously, handling these units often required external services for unlocking.
The Update
With this new protocol, operators can now manage Continental SID212 ECUs directly via Bench connection using KESS V3. This obviates the need to dispatch ECUs to third-party services for preparation or unlocking procedures.
Operational Advantages
This in-house capability translates to:
1.Autonomy: Workshops gain complete control over the preparation and tuning workflow.
2.Turnaround: Eliminating external shipping and service queues reduces overall handling time.
3.Cost Structure: The process removes additional per-ECU costs associated with outsourced preparation.
Workflow
Following a Bench mode connection, the operator can execute Virtual Reading and writing operations via Alientech Suite. The protocol is currently available for both Master and Slave units, requiring an active CAR-LCV Boot & Bench activation and subscription.

Kindly notice:
The older users who have Alientech KESS3 with CAR & LCV Bench (Boot & Bench) activation and 1 Year Software Subscription can now read and write Continental SID212 ECUs at no additional cost, provided they have a valid subscription.
An active subscription is required to access this update. If your subscription has expired, simply renew it to regain access to the latest protocols and features.
Additionally, SID212 driver is now supported in Alientech ECM Titanium. Simply read the ECU with KESS3, modify the file in ECM Titanium, and write it back to the ECU.
