ThinkDiag Reset Steering Angle Sensor in Different Ways

What you need:

Device: Thinkcar Thinkdiag OBD2 Bluetooth diagnostic tool

Launch ThinkDiag

Two methods to reset steering angle sensor by ThinkDiag:

Plug the ThinkDiag device into OBDII port in your vehicle

Note: It indicates that the device powers on when the green light appears

Launch ThinkDiag

Turn the ignition on

Run ThinkDiag APP

 

Method 1:

Select ThinkStore-> Purchased software-> select the corresponding car brand-GM

Launch ThinkDiag

It will connect Bluetooth automatically

Tap Automatically Search to read VIN

Launch ThinkDiag

It will ask you to turn on the ignition. If has turned on, just click OK to continue

Read out vehicle info incl. VIN, car year, make, model, type, source and engine identifier

Launch ThinkDiag

Select System Selection->Electronic Brake control module (EBCM)->Read Fault Code-> DTC Display

The error of steering wheel angle shows on the screen

Back to System Menu

Select Steering Wheel Angle Sensor Module (SWASM)->Special functions->Steering Wheel Angle Sensor Learn

Then follow the prompts on-screen to turn the ignition off and then turn on

Procedure complete

Back to System Menu to select Electronic Brake control module (EBCM) -> Clear Fault Code

Launch ThinkDiag

Read fault code again

Now there is not trouble code, system is normal.

Method 2:

Go to ThinkStore-> Purchased software-> RESET SAS

Launch ThinkDiag

Select the corresponding car manufacturer-GM

Launch ThinkDiag

Follow the prompt to turn on ignition

Pay attention to path to enter GM software

Select car model and car year: Chevrolet-> Silverado-> 2016-2018

Detect car year successfully

Confirm to reset steering angle sensor

Launch ThinkDiag

Refer to service manual for instructions

Turn on ignition and then turn off, turn on again

Finish resetting steering angle sensor
