Purpose:
Just got our first V200 VCI! What are you attaching to yours to prevent forgetting it in the car?
It is easy to forget a wireless VCI in cars,
Part of VCIs may drain power away from the car if we forget it in OBD port,
Here are some ways to prevent forgetting VCI in the car:
1.Use OBD2 extension cable
Tip: if you buy an obd2 extension cable (male to female) and plug it between the vehicle and vci, you can just have the cable hang from the steering wheel. That way you physically have the vci in site and not hidden
1)I use a 1 meter long obd2 extension cable and throw the vci up on the dash in plain sight
2.Autel tablet beeps reminds you to take it out.
1)My 919 tells me to remove vci upon backing out of the car. It beeps at me. That’s my reminder
2)I keep all of my Autel scan tools on mute, but it still beeps, very loudly, to remind me to unplug the VCI
3)My MK906TS beeps at me to remind me to remove the VCM when I exit the diagnostic app.
3.Put a bright yellow/red and long lanyard on VCI
1)Airtag in a case and a bright red hanging tag..
2)I got a bungie lanyard for mine that hooks to the scan tool
3)I made a 3d printed clamp that you can put a key ring bungee and attach to vehicle key
4.Choose a wired tablet
1)I had a long OBD cable, never used just the dongle.
Done! Hope this helps!
