Problem Description
When using YANHUA Mini ACDP to program a 2016 BMW G12 750i in an all keys lost scenario, users may encounter an issue. While the newly programmed key successfully starts the engine and the remote control functions properly, the final step – synchronizing the Electronic Gearbox Control (EGS) with the Electronic Immobilizer System (EWS) – fails with the following error message:
“Obtain password error, please contact technical support!”
This occurs despite the system and immobilizer information being successfully read, preventing the completion of the programming process.
Solution
This YANHUA ACDP error commonly occurs on BMW models equipped with dual engine control units. When the EGS password cannot be retrieved, it typically indicates that data was read from the incorrect engine control unit.
For BMW vehicles with two engine control units during an all keys lost procedure, it is essential to read the EEPROM data from the primary engine control unit rather than the secondary one. Reading data from the incorrect unit will inevitably result in a password retrieval failure.
To successfully complete the EGS/EWS synchronization, ensure you correctly identify and read data from the appropriate ECU.
