This guide demonstrates how to use KEYDIY KD-X6 to add a KD universal smart key to a 2020 Toyota GR86. The procedure includes selecting the vehicle, clearing existing keys while retaining one working key, adding the new key, and testing the remote and keyless functions.
1. Connect the KD-X6 to the vehicle and enter the programming menu. Select Toyota, then choose Select by Type and select GR86.

2. Turn on the ignition when prompted and confirm to continue. KD-X6 reads the current key information. In this example, the vehicle has two registered keys.
3. Select the option to erase the smart keys while retaining the current key. Place the KD universal key you want to keep at the ignition switch, then confirm to proceed.
Wait for the key deletion process to finish. Once successful, only the retained key will work.
4. Select Add Smart Key and turn on the ignition as instructed. Close all doors and confirm to continue.
Place the registered key near the Start button when prompted. Then place the KD universal key to be added at the ignition switch.
Repeat the process for any additional keys you want to register. Once the key registration is complete, turn the ignition off and then back on as instructed.
KD-X6 key programmer will display a message confirming that key addition is complete.
Key Function Test
After programming, test both the original key and the newly added KD universal key.
Both the original key and the newly programmed KD universal key successfully operate the vehicle in the demonstration.
