Case: How to use Autel IM508 to open the trunk on Mercedes-Benz E200 W212 by OBD?
Car: Mercedes-Benz E200 W212
Device: Autel IM508 key programmer
Error: One customer put his car key in the trunk which is closed
Something to know:
Autel MaxiIM IM508 supports Mercedes-Benz Open Trunk menu as below:
W212E
W204C
W204 CLK
W221S
Note: It doesn’t need to switch on the ignition to open trunk.
Guide to open trunk by Autel IM508:
We pick driver door lock and entry to car, no key to turn on
Connect Autel IM508 to OBDII
Select IMMO-> Mercedes-Benz
It will prompt that: Attempting to connect the XP400…
The following software functions should be used together with XP400, otherwise the functions cannot run normally.
Note: for opening trunk, there is no need to use XP-400
Select Expert Mode-> Open the trunk
There are four options: C-204, CLK-204, E212 (W212E) and S-221
Now the trunk closed
Press “E-212”, no need to turn on the ignition
Confirm that there are not other objects blocking or suppression in the opening and closing range of the trunk
Establishing vehicle communication…
Open the trunk successfully
Take out the key from the trunk to start the car
Insert the key into ignition to start the car
It shows “succeed in opening the trunk” on the Autel IM508 screen
Job’s done!

Diagnosis menu: Default Language is English, can be changed language to French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Dutch, Polish, Swedish, Italian, Korean, Japanese and Russian (Provide your device S/N to change language free, only Spanish needs to pay language fee);
Immobilizer menu: English only
