Tutorial: Program chip and remote on 2012 Volkswagen Caravelle via OBD by Autel IM508.
Preparation:
Car: 2012 Volkswagen Caravelle (type: Transporter)
Device: Autel MaxiIM IM508 auto key programmer
One original remote+ one new remote
Note: The remote comes with chip 48 (TP23) freq: 433 Mhz
New remote is original remote have sliding door buttons
Step-by-step to program chip and remote by MaxiIM IM508:
Connect OBD cable and XP200 programmer
Turn ignition on with the used remote, and it can start and remote normally
Please connect internet to IM508 before use
Select “IMMO”-> “Volkswagen”-> “Smart Selection”
Confirm the vehicle info has been read out
Analyzing vehicle immobilizer type…
Read the related info on the screen
Check key status
(The number of keys present in the vehicle is 3)
Press “YES” to enter “Function select” menu
Select “Remote control add”
Follow the prompt to press any button on the key within 10s and the hazard warning flasher will respond when performing adaption.

Then test the remote
Turn on ignition switch
Select “Key learning”-> “Read IMMO data”
Note: The instrument will have a black screen, which is normal. Later the screen will illuminate automatically.
Connect programmer…
Read IMMO data…
Press “Yes” to make a dealer key
Put a blank key into the X200 programmer keyhole and then press “OK”
Make dealer key successfully
Confirm if continue to generate next key, press “No” for only 1 key
Key adaption to vehicle
Confirm if the vehicle has key
Select the key numbers that need to be learned (incl. original and new key)
Insert all the keys that need to be learned into the ignition within 30s and turn on.
Note: The keys should be changes at an interval of less than 5s.
Finish learning key
Turn ignition off and wait for 5s, then turn on again
Now the number of keys present in the vehicle is 2.
Finally, use the keys have learned to start the car, all works normally
