Part 2. Different tools to repair FRM
Set connection.
D-Flash, EEPROM, Partition, all empty.
Just read P-Flash data as a backup.
Go to
D-FLASH>>Write Partition
Set EEPROM as 16, which will give you four kilobytes of memory on EEPROM.
Set D-FLASH as 0.
Now just write the new EEPROM with the same FRM number into it.
If all info are same as the original, then install it back, car is good to go; if not, we may need to program it before it works.
Support List:
Set connection.
Read D-FLASH.
Partition information error, manually select size.
Go to tlvps.tomvanleeuwen.nl/frm/.
Load D-FLASH to get a new EEPROM file.
Write EEPROM in.
Install FRM back, headlamp and windows come back.
3.X-PROG
Manually set partition size to read D-Flash.
Similarly, convert to EEPROM file by a calculator.
Then write it in, repair done.
Set connection with ACDP Module 8 for FRM.
On phone app, select “FRM Data Recovery”.
Check if data is corrupted.
Confirm other info, then process complete.
Summary:
Basically, Autel IM608, VVDI PROG and XPROG can only read and write FRM data, repair requires other tools or software, but XROG is the cheapest one and Autel IM608 has more functions of IMMO, diagnosis, and even FRM replacement, VVDI PROG support more chips and VVDI Key Tool Plus could repair FRM; while Yanhua ACDP module 8 is designed for FRM, for other tools, users need to buy other modules to work with ACDP Host.
