New Volvo with the new side button remote don’t have KVM inside, so it’s easier for locksmith to program keys. Here we share few tips on key programming of new Volvo.
1.Emergency Blade and Battery
*This method is available in the new S90, V90, V90 Cross Country, XC60, XC90 and XC40
1)Key Blade
To uninstall,
1)Loosen the black clip on the bottom.
2)Push up the front shell to remove the front shell, so we can see the key blade or the position.
To install back,
1)Push down the front shell and close the clip.
2)Close the black clip on the bottom.
2)Battery
To uninstall after part 1,
1)Loosen the clip on the black shell.
2)Hold the clip and remove the back shell, so we can see the battery cover.
3)Use tools to turn battery cover to remove it, so we can see the battery.
2.Key Programming
Since such Volvo don’t have KVM, and they have only CEM to read, it’s more easily-removed and it saved a lot of time when all key lost.
Simple Guide (e.g. Autel IM608PRO Programmer):
Lishi door lock open>>Remove CEM>>Read security data(*resistors may be required)>>Install CEM back>>program keys>>Cut emergency key
3.Review
Autel IM608PRO, Volvo xc40 2020 all keys lost
