Here we are going to compare two new diagnostic tablet — TOPDON ArtiDiag 800BT and ThinkScan MAX 2.
Package
The packing looks exactly the same.
Open it, identical accessory.
TOPDON dongle is slightly different, it has some lights in here.
Menu
Turn them on.
Exactly same menu.
On Thinkstore, here we have some subscription options.
On TOPDON, we don’t have a store because of lifetime free update.
Scan
Scan an Passat B7, costing less than 2 minutes.
I will give it credit because the car is around 5 meters away.
Special function
28 service functions on TOPDON.
Repair Info
One good thing is that both tools has repair info.
You can go to “OBD Fault Code Library”, saving you up from googling it on forums.
Live Data
One cool feature is that you can see the live data.
You can check the range in charts.
Summary
They are just basic tools, for reading deleting errors not reprogramming tools.
They look identical, tablet, menu, function… but I’m confused about what is free and what is not in THINKCAR. I have to pay a yearly subscription for something. That doesn’t work for me. While on the TOPDON you got everything for free on lifetime. It is just pure and simple.
And there are a few official facebook pages for TOPDON users, for support, and the response is just like immediate. Also, TOPDON is cheaper, although it doesn’t require a subscription.
Topdon 800BT, this is the one for me.
Done!
