This post comes with guide to replace engine ECU for Honda by LAUNCH diagnostic tool. It is applicable to Launch X431 PRO, X431 PRO3 and X431 PADIII.
Preparation:
Option 1: Launch X431 V

Option 3: X431 PAD3
ECU: Honda engine
Step-by-step guide:
Enter the Launch X431 tablet main menu
Select “HONDA”
Turn on the ignition switch
Read vehicle info and wait for a moment
Read out the VIN
Select “Immobilizer/Keys Programming”-> “Immobilizer”
Keep ignition on until the tester directs you to turn the ignition off
Determining Immobilizer system type…
Detect out the Immobilizer is 4th and type code is 0C
Select “Immobilizer Setup”
Note: Because it needs the professional knowledge for registration, so when you select, delete or reset the item related with the security key. Please pay attention to the selected item and execution.
Select “Replace ECM/PCM”
Communicating with the engine…
Turn the ignition switch off and then turn on
Finish registering the ECM/PCM
Turn the ignition switch off
Check all keys to ensure each will start the engine
Turn the ignition switch on
The tester will register the immobilizer code into the Honda smart key ECU
Turn the ignition switch off and then turn on
Register Honda smart key ECU successfully
Turn the ignition switch off
Finally, check all Honda smart keys to ensure each will start the engine and to lock and unlock doors.
