In this article, we will show to replace Mercedes ME9.7 engine ECU using Autel IM608 with G-Box2.
Model:
2011 Mercedes C300
Old (bad) and New Engine ECU:
Same ME9.7, but slightly different part number.
Connection
To Start.
On IM608 Programmer, go to
IMMO>>Mercedes-Benz>>Expert selection>>Engine(ECU)
To check wiring diagram, Select
Wiring diagram>>On bench G-Box>>ME9.7
4 cables out of G-Box: GND, Power, CAN-H, CAN-L.
15 16 – power, 41 54- CANH/L, 2-GND.
Here we get power by
Set up power, the power from wall is 11.7, 11.8, which is not healthy for ECU.
Set up rest parts.
Read (old) Engine and Coding
Go back to Engine(ECU) menu.
Click “Read engine(ECU) information” to test connection.
Connection is good.
Backup engine info, then backup coding, which actually is SCN coding.
Go to
Back up coding>>On bench
To save coding.
Renew (new) Engine
Set up connection of new engine ECU.
Also, check connection via Read engine(ECU) information “.
Select “Renew engine(ECU)”.
Read engine, Not Personalized and Not Activated.
Write Data
Select “Write engine (ECU) VIN”.
Select VIN to write in.
Select “Load engine(ECU) information” to load original engine ECU info.
Then select “Write engine(ECU) data” to write it in.
Select “Write coding”, load original coding file, and write it in.
Here we don’t have to “Activate engine(ECU)” unless the start won’t start because of an EIS problem after it is installed back to vehicle.
So procedures are done!
That’s how Autel IM608 Programmer with G-Box replaces Mercedes ME9.7 engine ECU.
