Here we are going to show you how to Clone/ Swap a cluster from a 2006 Ford Ecoline E-series van using Autel IM608 Programmer.
Difference due to new cluster:
If the new instrument is brand new, then code it to the vehicle, turn ignition on/ off by each of existed keys, and they will register immediately.
If the new instrument is used, then code it to the vehicle, reset parameter, and reprogram existed keys.
Here we got the second situation, and we will use Autel IM608 on it. (You can use IM508 or other programmers)
EEPROM:
MC9S12H128 Freescale
Procedure:
Turn on IM608, go to
Programmer>>Chip (EEPROM, MCU, ECU)>>Chip read& write>>MCU>>FREESCALE>>MC9S12_UNSECURED>>MC9S12H128_UNSECURED
Check “Schematic diagram”.
Focus on the picture 2 QFP 144, and the four different connections, but which would be a little hard.
So we try another pinout and it worked.
Remember that APA109 works with XP400 programmer.
Read and save EEPROM file.
Restore cluster and turn it on.
Connect IM608 and XP400 Programmer to the other cluster.
Write file into it.
Turn it on again via GT100 Breakout Box.
Now we don’t have to reset parameter and program keys, just install it back and car will start.
Done.
